First Day at Preschool
Today is Caleb's first day at preschool, and boy, was I nervous! Kitty is actually quite calm about the whole thing, but I have been nervous for this day for quite some time already. New environment, new teachers, new kids, new routine, new place to nap, new place to potty. What if the kids pick on him? What if he doesn't nap there? What if he cries all day long? Just thinking about all that brings an uneasy feeling in my stomach. Well, I am happy to announce that Caleb took it very well when I dropped him off at preschool this morning. PTL! Although today is his first official full day there by himself, he has been there with Kitty for a few hours a couple times before as a trial run. Also, we have been trying to prep him mentally by letting him know that he will be going to school all by himself as a big boy in a few days. So this morning when I dropped him off, he just went off with all the other kids to go outside to play and do the flag salute. No tears, no clinging. Wow. PTL. Guess I didn't have to be so nervous after all. Can't wait till tonight when I get to hear all about his day!

Kewl. I'm picturing you in tears as Caleb runs to play. ;-)
So how is preschool different than daycare?
BTW, noticed you got email subscription turned on. Is that a new Blogger feature?
You saw me crying?? I knew there was someone hiding behind the bush! :) Preschool is a lot more structured than daycare. They follow a pretty strict schedule, doing different activities and crafts. Also, they emphasize on independence, so no more "babying" them. It's not really the differences that I was nervous about. It's adapting to a new environment. Caleb has been at the same daycare since he was three months old, so he knows everyone and is very comfortable with it. I know in time, preschool will be like that for him too.
As with the email subscription thing, it's not a feature of Blogger. I stole that feature from http://www.feedblitz.com. Blogger allows you to "add features" by injecting HTML into its pages. Feedblitz is one of the many things that can be injected. Don't ask me what else, because I have no idea. :)
Wow! When did you become so techie?
I just added the email subscription thingy to my blog too, so I can be cool like you!
